I just remember the time in high school I waited in a freezing cold line at the now defunct Deep Ellum Live to see ORGY and didn't get in because it sold out. Thank goodness they played Edgefest later that year. Definately one of my favorite bands from that time period. Jay Gordon was a major influence on me as an early frontman. This is the video for my favorite ORGY song, "Stitches" and of course, "Blue Monday" and "Dreams in Digital".

Hey kiddos! This is Channce, lead guitar for THE ORANGE. Just wanted to give you all a quick update from the studio front. We just spent two very long days with our amazing producer Jim King. Early mornings and late nights for everyone, but so worth it. The tracks we have sound incredible and it's just the beginning. We've polished up some live favourites like Blow Up and Such a Drag, updated some VERY old tunes like La La Land and Cityscape, and roughed out a few very fun new songs. Meet Channce Moffitt

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing Channce Moffitt, the newest addition to THE ORANGE. After a wild and unmatched performance at The House of Blues last week Channce has now resumed lead guitar duties for the band. What many of you may not know about him is that Channce was actually a founding member of THE ORANGE in 2005 but left to pursue a solo project named The Opposites Attract. He is by far the most interesting guitar player we have ever had and we are very excited to have him back in the fold. When you see him give him a warm welcome and also be prepared for some of the most interesting noises you will ever hear. THE ORANGE will resume playing live this March at the SXSW festival in Austin and a tentative show is in the works in Dallas with our freinds Hoyotoho. Stay warm and stay tuned.

We hope everyone had an amazing time at The House of Blues the other night! You guys were awesome and The Orange had a spectacular show becasue of it! We really appreciate everyone coming out on such short notice. Special thanks to the staff at the HOB for making us feel right at home and especially to Jeff our soundengineer for the crisp landscape. I also want to thank Channce Moffitt, our new guitarist for learning the tunes in less than two practices and being a sonic scientist on his guitar. Much more of Channce is to come so stay tuned! THE ORANGE will be playing a very special show at The House of Blues in Dallas Texas on Wednesday January 19th, main support for the national act ALPHA REV on Hollywood records. We hope everyone can make it out because we can't wait to bring you our rock n' roll tunes at this landmark Dallas venue. Tickets are on sale right now at all ticketmaster locations. First we are stopping by the Black Swan across from TREES to see Robbie and his band The Red 100's. Last but not least, the HOYOTOHO boys are christening the most recently re-opened Club DaDa which I scoped out last week. The place is really nice with an awesome mural from Dallas own Frank Campagna. It's really refreshing to see such a lively night in the Dallas music scene again. I really couldn't ask for more.

Frankie Campagna, Rest in Peace My Friend

I woke up this morning to hear the most awful news I've ever heard in all my life the first day of a new year. Local musician and freind Frankie Campagna of the band Spector 45 passed away last night. I met Frankie nine years ago in Deep Ellum when we were both very young and playing in bands. His bands name, Spector 45 was always listed next to my bands name, Special Edword, in local music listings and brochures. Their was even a bit of a freindly rivalry between us because we were both the youngest bands down there to be playing sucessfully. Frankie Campagna was a hell of a good guy and I respected him emensely. He stuck to his talents and was true to himself and his art... which speaks volumes about the kind of person he was. I'll never forget seeing Spector 45 at the 2003 NMF in Deep Ellum playing in the bed of a vintage pickup. Frankie lived a genuine life and will be horribly missed. God bless you and your family Frankie. My thoughts and prayers go to his father Frank Campagna senior and his lovely sister Amber Campagna. This has been a somber New Years Day.

A great big hug and thanks to all of our freinds who made the show at the Ghostbar last weekend! We brought a record number of people at over 300 gold tickets through the door! Also thanks again to Chris and Jim King for trying to work with the sound system and Jeff Breeze, Albert Smith and our friend Joey too. Sorry to the W hotel for throwing a party and almost getting kicked out, and sorry to those in our room that had to split when the hotel people got pissed off. I guess our next party will be at motel 6 where you can do whatever the hell you want for $39.99! The saltwater pool was pretty bad ass, but the elevators totally sucked! We are most likely to attend the ArtCon 6 wrap up party at the Doublewide on Tuesday Dec 7th. Best part, the artists drink free! at least the first few. ArtCon 6 raised $30,000 this year, a record high. Thanks to Jason Janik for snapping our photo at the event.

Also, the Ghostbar show is this Friday night! We are getting pretty excited as we just found out a camera crew will be attending the concert and filming as well as a few A&R reps from some pretty fantastic labels. Nick also helped us pull down a suite at the hotel for a wicked after party. See you at the show!

After a wicked weekend of substantial partying and important bands, playing a show and good freinds, all I can say is..."Hell Yeah" (In Cody's creepy redneck voice) I'm running now on a combined total of 7 hours sleep this weekend. So here is the wrap up.

1. Sorry to the dude upstairs that threatens to call the cops everytime I remotely have a party. ( God forbid you just come over and have a fucking beer!)

2. To The Dandy Warhols, Hoyotoho and Hopewell..................great great great great shows!!!

3. To James Loubriel.....dude...you can still seriously party, regardless of your present line of work.

4. To Nick...thanks for letting The Funny Leg and I crash your place.. Champagne and a bologne sandwich have never been so good together.

Wow Scott, I'm flabbergasted that someone as passionate about music as you managed to whittle you list down to 11; that couldn't have been easy. I tried to distill my album collection (1,000s) into 10 desert island records, and I damn near had a panic attack. A list of my top 20 just gave me a headache. So, in lieu of attempting once more this task that has proved impossible, I would like instead to offer you a different list: my favorite album from each year in the (IMO) greatest decade for rock and roll, the 1970s.

And to round it out to an odd 11, my favorite album of all time is Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. I've never listened to Hi-Fi Drowning, but I just ordered a used copy from Amazon ($2.99 after shipping, btw) on the strength of the one song I could track down, "The Saint's Id." I can't wait to hear the rest of it!

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at The Cavern a couple of weeks ago! The pictures by Cat Gorsky came out pretty sweet. God's Joke and The Cocky Americans were awesome too. The show was reveiwed on Pegasus News. Here is what they had to say:

DALLAS — The atmosphere was chill and the crowd large on Friday night at The Cavern on Greenville Avenue, where God's Joke, The Orange, and Cocky Americans performed. The Orange took the stage and brought the crowd to their feet. The Orange went off on many awesome instrumental tangents, and they gave us a night of guitar distortion mixed with dance beats. They sound a bit like The Arctic Monkeys. The best part was lead guitarist Michael Scroggins's impressive solos, which tied each song together. Front man/guitarist Scott Tucker got the crowd involved by doing a short clap-along. Our favorite was their catchy song “Nip Tuck,” which got the crowd dancing and singing.
